Isozyme and SDS-PAGE profiling of leaf soluble proteins were studied in three contrasting rice varieties Dandi (salt tolerant), Gujari (moderately tolerant) and Masuri (sensitive) under salinity stress. Study revealed that the isozyme patterns of SOD, APOX, CAT and POX affected in rice leaf against salinity stress in combination with foliar ABA application. The differential expression of antioxidant isozymes seems to be associated with salt tolerance or salt susceptibility or responsiveness to ABA in rice. The protein profile by SDS-P AGE revealed the presence of 910 bands some of which were either expressed de novo or up/down accumulated due to salinity. Three protein bands viz 66 kDa, 29 kDa and 31 kDa seems to be influenced in leaf by salt treatment and/or salt tolerance or susceptibility of the variety.
