Abstract

Frontline demonstrations were conducted in ten villeges of three blocks in Surguja District for four consecutive kharif season during 2006-07 to 2009-10 on upland crop Niger, Variety, JNC-6. The average yield were obtained from improved practive 4.30, 3.95, 3.10, 3.82 Qtl./ha. and from farmers practice were 1.80, 2.18, 1.65, and 1.62 QtI./ha. respectively, which was on an average 52.21 % lower than improved practice.

The net return from improved and farmers practices were obtained Rs. 8500, 4250, 10475, 8890, and 6500, 2500, 2300 and 2490 respentistely. The lats was on an average by Rs. 4581/ha. lower than the forms.
