Abstract

A study was conducted in Mohanpupra village of Bajpur [Uttarakhand] covering total hundred fisher women. Participatory Information Communication Module was developed on "Effect of Medicinal Plant on Fish Fertility" to give Knowledge, Information, Education to Fisher women. This module was implemented in different format like-drama, puppet show, folk songs. Data was collected through interview schedule and knowledge test. Result showed that Majority of women [70%] were 35–45 age group and illiterate. Most of the women [90%] were belonged to OBC and have joint family [85%]. All the fisher women have mobile phone and television as the source of information. Gain in knowledge was increased by 20.7% after implementation of this module.
