Garlic (Allium Sativum) is also becoming a main horticulture crop in Shopure District of Madhya Pradesh. Its occupied about more than 1500 ha. area in year 2011–12. Its productivity in district was low up to 2009–10 due to lack of improved variety and non-adoption of improve technology. Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sheopure has conducted demonstration of variety G-323 and improved technologies at farmer fields from 2011–12 to 2012–13.
The results of demonstration revealed that garlic variety G-323 along with other improved practices gave average yield, 154.79 quintal/ha. which was 15.69% higher over farmers practices on the basis of average yield during the study period.
Economic analysis showed that demonstration recorded average higher net return of Rs. 26333/ha. A higher B:C ratio 3.035 was obtained under demonstration as compared 2.58 B:C ratio under local farmer's practices.
