Abstract

This study was carried out to find increasing water productivity by water user association's in command area of three basins namely Narmada basin, Betwa basin, and Tones basin. Farmers of Narmada basin spend maximum time in agricultural works and farmer's co-operation level is high, linkage with government department, private organization and television to provide new agricultural technology in Narmada basin water users. All those factors and new technology increased water productivity in all WUA's. Water productivity of wheat was found to increase to 4.09 kg/m3 from 1.44 kg/m3 in Narmada basin to 3.2 kg/m3 from 1.5 kg/m3 in Tones basin and from 3.1 kg/m3 to 4 kg/m3 in Betwa basin.
