Frontline demonstrations on soybean were carried out on the farmers ’fields during kharif seasons of 2010–11 to 2015–16, the study revealed that improved practice gave 24.14 q/ha average seed yield whereas, farmers ’practice gave 20.68 q/ha. The per cent increase in yield with improved practice over farmers ’practice was 16.70%. The technology gap, extension gap and technology index ranged between 4.05–10.58 q/ha, 2.21–5.41 q/ha and 13.50–35.27%, respectively. Net returns and benefit: cost ratio was higher with improved practice (39, 485/ha and 2.39, respectively) than in the farmers ’practice (33, 234/ha and 2.30, respectively). Improved practice gave 6, 251/ha higher net returns than the farmers practice which accounts 18.81% more than farmers practice.
