Abstract

The present investigation was done to improve the forage biomass of guar seedlings even under diseased conditions. For this purpose, the effect of micronutrients (Copper, Cu2+ and Manganese, Mn2+) was studied on disease incidence and biomass parameters of guar seedlings infected with Rhizoctonia species. Forage biomass parameters decreased with infection but increased with micronutrient treatments along with decrease in soluble sugar content. Specifically, copper (Cu) at 10 mg/kg soil was found to reduce disease incidence accompanied with increase in biomass parameters of the seedlings under normal and diseased conditions and thus, may be recommended to increase the forage biomass of the guar.
