Ten tree leaves samples of species i.e., Terminalia tomentosa (asan), Bauhinia variegate (kachnar), Artocarpus heterophyllus (jackfruit), Psidium guajava (guava), Glycosmis pehtaphylla (bannimbu), Scheffera sp., Smilax macrophylla (rampata), Leucaena leucocephala (subabul), Butea monosperma (palas) and Shorea robusta (sal) were assessed on the basis of protein fractions under Cornell net carbohydrate and protein system (CNCPS). Fraction PA content of legume tree fodders was lower than that of non legume tree fodders. Fraction PB1 and PB2 were higher for T. tomentosa and B. variegate, respectively. Out of the rest of the trees, L. leucocephala and Butea monosperma leaves had the better protein fractions. Unavailable protein fraction i.e. fraction PC was lower in these tree leaves in comparison to others.
