Effect of boron on productivity of garlic crop on farmers ’field

Study was carried out in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh to analyze the yield and economics of garlic crop under demonstrations. Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sheopur has conducted demonstration of basal application of borax and application of recommended dose of N: P: K fertilizers at farmers during 2012–13 to 2013–14.

The results of study revealed that basal application of borax along with recommended dose of N: P: K fertilizers gave average yield 152.01 q/ha which was 13.38% higher over farmers ’practices on the basis of average yield.

Economic analysis showed average net return of 131874/ha. A higher B: C ratio 2.58 was obtained under demonstrations as compared 2.32 B: C ratio under local farmers ’practices.
