Out of various botanicals, neem tree as source of natural insecticidal is the richest in active compounds. Nearly 550 insect pest species are sensitive to azadirachtin, an active compound extracted from the A. indica tree. It is effective against various crop pest like rice, wheat, pulses and vegetables. Besides it is safer to non target organism and also ecofriendly as compared to synthetic and chemical insecticides. This review throws light on the use and efficacy of A. indica A. juss based insecticides which is very important.
