Abstract

Experiment was conducted to study the effect of plant extracts (5 and 10%) of seven plant species viz; Vasaka, (Adhatoda vasaka); Jatropha (Jatropha curcas); Mandukparni (Centella asiatica); Kundru (Coccinia grandis); Karipatta (Murraya Koenigii); Marigold (Tagetus erectus); Brahmi, (Bacopa monnieri) against the feeding behavior of 8 days old larvae of S. obliqua. At 10% conc.J. curcas (seed) di ethyl ether extract was found to be most effective with antifeedant activity, 94.39% while least effective was B. monnieri (leaves) acetone extract with antifeedant activity 38.74%. This study can be useful for the IPM program of tested insect.
