Abstract

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gwalior has carried out 52 front line demonstrations (FLD) on 20.8 ha area during 2012–13 to 2015–16 on the farmers’ fields with wilt resistant varieties of chickpea viz. The results revealed that wilt resistant chickpea varieties with improved cultivation practices gave 14.35 q/ha average yield which was 19.6% higher over local/farmers’ practices. Economic analysis showed that front line demonstrations recorded higher net return of 40174/ha which was 10869 higher over local/farmers practices on average basis. The average B: C ratio 3.29 was obtained under front line demonstrations which was 2.77 under local/farmers practices.
