Stone disease is increasing rapidly in our community, so there is need for effective means of stone prevention. The formation of urinary stone starts only when there is a pathological disorder in the human system and the body starts execrating excess amount of highly insoluble chemicals which prevents the normal function of the organs. Stones are usually formed due to high concentration of stone forming mineral salts in the urine, an uneven balance of acid in the urine, lack of substances in the urine that prevent the growth of crystals, disturbances in the body’s metabolism, certain inherited defects etc. It is found that reducing the nutrient density by the addition of fibre to the diet reduces urinary excretion of calcium oxalate.
The main objective of this article is chemodissolution of urinary stones by means of amino acids and their products. An attempt has been made to show the vitality of amino acids to act as inhibitor for this endemic diseases.
