Abstract

The force constant values of alkali metal halides have been evaluated from the experimentally determined infrared spectral vibrational frequency (ν). The Debye Temperature function (θD), the logarithimic and Woodcock potential U(ra) models have been used to evaluate bond dissociation energy. The correlations have been established between vibrational frequency, bond dissociation energy and force constants evaluated from Infrared bond frequency.
