The paper incorporates results of rainfall data analysis of the most essential hydrometerological parameter, which governs the recharge phenomenon of ground water system of Sitamau area, Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh, India. Data analysis of rainfall records for a period of 31 years (1985 to 2015) and environmental implications on ground water system have been elaborated and displayed. Mathematical analysis of Sitamau rainfall data displays a variation range from 402.30 to 1512 mm. The minimum annual rainfall (402.30 mm) during 2000 and maximum rainfall (1512 mm) have been observed during 2015 and computed the annual average rainfall value as 852.47 mm. Departure from the average annual rainfall, and Cumulative average have been measured. Statistical analysis of rainfall data indicates the mean (861.29 mm.), median (845.45 mm.), mode (854.54 mm.), Standard deviation (256.10 mm.), co-efficient of dispersion (0.297), co-efficient of variation (29.73), and co-efficient of skewness (0.026). Computed values of statistical parameters indicate a positive trend of rainfall. Forecast of expected rainfall trend for 10 years has been visualized. Environmental implication of rainfall trends on the recharge of ground water system has been discussed. It is recommended that the augmentation of rainfall on the priority basis need to resolve the existing water problem by adopting construction of artificial recharge structures and implementing aforestation scheme in Sitamau study area.
