Abstract

Application of water quality index is a useful method in assessing the suitability of water for various beneficial uses. The objective of this study was to know the water quality index of the surface water of Jui dam. For calculating the water quality index parameters namely, pH, total dissolved solids, total hardness, total alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chloride, sulphate, nitrate and fluorides were considered. Weighted arithmetic water quality index method was used to find surface water quality index.
