Abstract

Bibliometrics is an emerging thrust area of research in the field of library and information Science. Journal literature is an important source of information. To disseminate new ideas for recent developments in any area of research and development work. Study of the papers published in a particular journal reveals the status and trends of research in the subject in which the journal is published. Bibliometrics studies are used to identify the pattern of publication, authorship and citation analysis with the hope that such regularities can give an insight into the dynamics of the area under consideration.
