An information literacy skill enables undergraduate students to be life-long learners since the skill assists them to identify, evaluate, retrieve and use information effectively. This paper, therefore, evaluated and assessed the level of information literacy skills of undergraduate students in federal universities in Nigeria with a view to determining how to increase effective library use by the undergraduate students. The study population was 1,453 and the study adopted the survey research design. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Level of information literacy of the undergraduate students in Nigerian federal universities is low and ABU undergraduates have the highest level of information literacy skills among undergraduate students investigated. Provision of nternet connected computers as well as encourage the fresh students to attend the Use of Library course was recommended.
