Developing skills that will facilitate the recognition of when information is needed, and the ability to locate, evaluate and effectively use the needed information is required in tertiary education. In this era of information explosion, the need to be information literate cannot be over-emphasized. It is therefore expected that students in tertiary institutions develop skills to adequately source for information for the realization of their academic pursuit. Librarians are expected to be key players in achieving this goal.
This study therefore, intends to find out the level of information literacy competence among the students of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, Nigeria with the view to sensitizing the University Management to the need for the inclusion of information literacy in the curriculum.
