Abstract

The introduction of digital technology into the process of production, distribution and storage of information has made the libraries to go digital. The digital preservation is of utmost importance in order to maintain the mission of preserving a record for future use. Digital preservation is the management of digital information over time. The paper discusses various issues and challenges associated with digital preservation and examine different strategies of digital preservation.
