Abstract

Makes a survey of 416 reference sources in Gurmukhi on all subjects published during 1891 to 2012. Makes their demographic analysis to study their chronological growth, authorship pattern (both personal and corporate). Brings out the contributions of female authors and identifies major authors of these sources. Finds out major publishers and their geographical distribution. Major forms and formats, physical size of the documents have been identified along with dominant subjects of these 416 sources. Lastly points to gaps in creation of these sources which need to be filled for growth of research in Punjabi. Concludes with a topic for further research in this area.
