Abstract

Community Information Centres (CICs) are set up to create IT awareness among people at grass root level. This paper describes, the role of CICs in dissemination of information to the users in different blocks of Jammu division. The paper highlights the purpose for which users visit CICs and their satisfaction level towards the services provided at CICs. The authors have, suggested various steps for the better implementation of the CIC scheme in area taken under study. CIC can prove to be an effective tool to bridge the digital divide.
