Abstract

This paper outlines the application and use of ICT in the delivery of information products and services in the rural areas in India; describes opportunities and challenges of ICT and highlights successful strategies for using and implementing ICT in rural sectors; discusses the efforts and initiatives for developing rural development information system in the rural areas of India with reference to NICNET, Community Information Centre, and INTERNET Kiosk and accessing the Rural Development Information in brief.
