Abstract

Public libraries are also going hi-tech with the development assistance received from RRRLF and NIC to moderate them. Consequently, they have to develop their collection with the changing approach in digital libraries; hence they have to devise some ways to overcome the problem of collection building in digital environment.

This paper traces the possibility of introduction of library consortia in public libraries and their role in collection building and development.
