Abstract

Open Access System (OAS) has brought in a major welcoming changing in research. The availability of open access journals in various domains have enthused many researchers to initiate and innovate their research ideas. The bibliometric studies become aplenty and widespread thanks to the online-availability of scores of journals in open space. This research paper is a bibliometric study of a free online journal ‘ The Journal of Information Literacy’ covering the period 2007–2012. It brings into light various bibliometric aspects of the JIL like authorship pattern, types of publications, citation study, no. of pages, institution-wise output, country-wise output, the degree of collaborative research, degree of collaboration, year-wise and volume-wise contributions etc.
