The information environment is changing at a high speed throughout the world. Advance information technologies and communication systems pose challenges for the libraries. Printed resources are being converted into digital resources. Librarians have changed themselves according to the demands of users. Shift from human dependent operations to machine dependency, stand alone system to network computing, print resources to digital resources have compelled the present librarians to adopt new tools and techniques to satisfy the modern users. Information is available in a variety of formats in the libraries, printed and digital, depending information is being delivered to the users.
Present paper aims to examine the use of print and digital information resources by the users of different disciplines in Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
Paper discusses the unique qualities and various aspects regarding the utilization of print and digital resources. The study reveals that the choice of one format over another format shows supremacy of print resources over digital resources but side by side, digital resources have kept their strong hold in the information world.
