The Recognition is used for the processes of accreditation, assessment, credit transfer and prior learning for competence of LIS sectors. The paper is focuses on a strategy for using the Library sectors competency standards as units of ‘currency’ in the recognition process. It could also be used a model for adapting any together training modules or programs to match the Library industry competency standards. The Linkages form each unit of competency to modules Library and information science studies allow training providers to meet their own system requirements for certification and maps their outcomes to appear in a statement of competency attainment. How it's provides an overall framework which encompasses a number of models or options that can be further adapted for use in Library workplace or in training situation but the problem of this research is based on assessment against the LIS sector competency standard in Fiji and provides a common basis against which to benchmark the learning that takes place in many different situations.
