The present study revolves around the ethics in general and information ethics particular. Ethics is a defined set of beliefs about right and wrong behaviour. Ethical behaviour conforms the generally accepted social norms. "Information ethics" is a term used to describe the study and evaluation of the various ethical issues that arise in a world that is driven by the sharing of electronic data. This study is an attempt to look closely at the morality involved in making use of the information or data and identifying ways to practice workable ethics in virtual environment. Information ethics has grown over the years as a discipline in library and information science, but the field or the phrase has evolved and been embraced by many other disciplines, too.
