Publication Trends in Library Progress (International): Bibliometric Study From 2004–2015

Abstract

The paper brings out the results of a bibliometric analysis of the journal titled “Library Progress (International)” for the period from 2004 to 2015. The data were downloaded from the Indian Citation Index database. This study aims at analyzing the research output performance of Library scientists on library & information science subjects. The paper analyzes a citation study of 260 articles (62 times cited) were published from 2004 to 2015 in the Library Progress (International). The paper covers the bibliometric analyses of year-wise publication of articles, volume-wise, issue-wise, authorship patterns, institutions-wise publication of contributions, country-wise, state wise and city wise publication of articles. The result showed that out of 260 articles multiple authors contributed 72.69%, while the rest of 27.31% articles were contributed by single author. Further, study also examines the length of articles, highly cited papers, most prolific authors and average number of references in the articles.
