Facebook is playing great role in connecting different people from all over the world having different backgrounds in their personal and professional life. This piece of information aims to identify the professional use of Facebook by library science professionals at University of Delhi. The cultural and technical factors are having deep roots which are not allowing Facebook to be used for official use in libraries. Factors like thinking and ideology of old staff towards social networking sites impacts its use at University of Delhi. Facebook can be a good source for sharing of internal communication, library news and problems of library among staff. The common use of Facebook groups by library and information professionals were searched, main activities were analysed and discussed in this manuscript. The main problem of corruption is addressed using Facebook in the libraries. It is also banned in some libraries for any type of use. In the end the result, suggestions, discussions and conclusion regarding its current use and benefits to use them in future are also mentioned in the paper.
