Assessment is an essential part of teaching, learning and assessment process. Librarians throughout academia need to assess information literacy skill. Information literacy enables a student to achieve his/her goals, develop his/her knowledge and potential, and participate fully in the wider society. It is widely recognized that information literacy is vital for learning and growth of higher education students. However, authors noted that little research is reported about assessment of information literacy skills in Indian education system. This study has been designed to address this vital need to measure the level of information literacy skills among the undergraduate science students of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Navi Mumbai.
