Abstract

An analysis of the free convection flow past an impulsively started vertical plate of infinite extent with mass diffusion is presented here, taking into account a homogenous chemical reaction of first order. The governing partial differential equations of this problem, subjected to their boundary conditions are transformed and solved numerically by applying Runge -Kutta -Gills method. The analytical solution of resulting ordinary differential equations has been obtained in terms of repeated integrals of complementary error functions. They are in good agreement of exact solutions. Graphs showing variations of velocity, temperature and concentration, for different values of Schmidt number, Prandtl number, suction/injection parameter and chemical reaction parameter are plotted, and the results of them are discussed.
