Effect of different treatment on seed germination and standardization of storage techniques of Bombax ceiba linn.

Present study investigated the effect of different treatments such has H₂SO₄, KNO₃ and soaking in hot water, mechanical scarification on seed germination of Bombax ceiba Linn. Acid scarification resulted better germination in heavy seeds of Bombay cetbe Linn. The other treatment were also increased the overall germination percentage significantly as compared to control out of the different storage methods tried to store the seeds in closed container and polythene bag, was found more useful. The study prove that seed treatment were necessary to overcomedormancy in Bombax ceiba Linn.
