Abstract

In the current study, Cos 13235 and Colk 14201, two commercially grown sugarcane genotypes, are examined to determine how in vitro shoot multiplication is affected by the pH of the culture media. The findings of this study unequivocally demonstrate that sugarcane shoot multiplication in vitro is significantly influenced by the pH of the culture media. On culture media with a pH of 5.8, the highest shoot multiplication in both genotypes was seen. This study suggests that in order to create effective in vitro regeneration protocols for industrial use, it is necessary to standardise the pH of the culture media separately for each genotype of sugarcane.
