Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu during June 2021 to October 2021 to find an effect of spacing and weed management practices on growth parameters in irrigated hybrid maize. The treatments included best combinations consisting of spacing and weed management practices. Among the different treatments, spacing of 60 cm × 20 cm along with Pre emergence application of atrazine 50% WP @ 1.0 kg a.i. ha-1 on 3 DAS and one hand weeding on 30 DAS recorded higher growth attributes viz., plant height, leaf area index and crop dry matter production.
