Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are considered as the main drivers of any economy and their importance increase tremendously if the economy in question is one of the developing countries. But it is equally true that the MSMEs face unique and monumental challenges. The present study explores the underlying problems related to the MSMEs operating in the regions having geographical or other constraining factor. Therefore, the focus of this study is to identify the problems of MSMEs in the hilly state of a geographically diversified country, that is, Himachal Pradesh in India. The study is based on primary data collected with the help of a structured research schedule. Six problems are identified of which three are of high importance, whereas the remaining do not significantly affect MSMEs.
