Three dosages of acephate 50% and buprofezin 20% WP viz., 150 + 375, 200 + 500 and 250 + 625 g a.i. ha−1 (T1, T2, T3), along with four treated checks viz., acephate 75% SP @ 584 g a.i. ha−1 (T4), buprofezin 25% SC @ 250 g a.i. ha−1 (T5), chlorpyriphos 50% + cypermethrin 5% EC @ 500 + 50 g a.i. ha−1 (T6), and profenophes 50% EC @ 1000 g a.i. ha−1 (T7) and an untreated check (T8) were evaluated against major sucking insect-pest of cotton (aphids, jassids, whiteflies and thrips) during 2011 and 2012. All the treatments were significantly superior over untreated check. Among the treatments, maximum reduction in aphid population from 91.55 to 92.74, jassid population from 83.42 to 95.74, whitefly from 85.47 to 91.38 and thrips from 90.74 to 93.61 per cent was observed from acephate 50% + buprofezin 20% WP @ 250 + 625 g a.i. ha−1, along with the maximum yield (25.67 to 25.82 q ha−1) during 2011 and 2012.
