A field experiment to study the effect of different dates of sowing on pollen viability in parental lines of sorghum hybrids was conducted at the field during kharif season. Pollen viability was studied for restorer (R) lines AKR-150, C-43, ICSR-89058 and AKR-73 of sorghum hybrids at three different sowing dates. In all sowing dates pollen viability of seed parent AKR-150 was viable up to 6 hrs and highest at 8 am in D1. Seed setting was highest at 8 am for seed parent AKR- 150, ICSR-89058 and AKR-73 except C-43 where highest seed setting at 9 a.m.
