Response of integrated nutrient management on dry matter, yield and nutrients uptake at different growth stages of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

Abstract

An agronomic investigation during kharif season of 2016 was carried out at Guru Ram Rai College, Dehradun, Uttarakhand (India) to investigate the effect of integrated nutrient management in tomato. The treatments comprised T1- (Control), T2- (50% RDNF through inorganic fertilizer + 50% RDNF through vermicompost), T3- (75% RDNF through inorganic fertilizer + 25% RDNF through vermicompost), T4- (100% RDNF through vermicompost), T5- (100% RDNF through inorganic fertilizer), T6- (50% RDNF through inorganic fertilizer + 50% FYM), T7- (75% RDNF through inorganic fertilizer + 25% FYM). Fruit yield (83.47 q ha−1) of tomato was highest with (75% RDNF + 25% VC) followed by (75% RDNF + 25% FYM) and T5 (100% RDNF). Highest uptake of nutrients was also observed under 25% level of organic manure application in combination with 75% of inorganic fertilizer. Application of organic manures in combination with inorganic fertilizer increased the availability of nutrients to tomato crop at various growth stages.
