In the present paper, the efforts have been made to provide a comprehensive review of trade of fresh, canned and dried mushrooms in the world and the position of India in the global mushroom trade. China, Poland and Netherlands are the leading exporters, while United Kingdom (UK), Germany, Russian Federation, USA and France are the leading importers of fresh as well as canned mushrooms in the world. Export market of dried mushrooms is dominated by China, followed by Germany. Whereas, Netherlands is the largest importer of dried mushrooms followed by Germany, UK, France and Italy. Although the current share of India in world mushroom exports is less than one per cent, India has a great export potential with European Union and the United States being the biggest markets for Indian mushroom and Poland and China being its biggest competitors.
