Most of the cultivable lands are becoming nutrient deficient and creating the need to develop tolerant rice genotypes performing well at these environments. Wild and related species are unexplored sources for contributing to tolerance for various stresses in cultivated species. Twenty-four advanced introgression lines derived from wild species Oryza nivara were characterized for agro-morphological traits under normal irrigated and low phosphorous conditions along with checks. The data were recorded on six agro-morphological traits to study genetic variability and phenotypic correlation. On the basis of mean performance of highest grain yield per plant, exhibited under normal irrigated conditions; C2-128, C2-143 and C2-36 were found to be superior. However, the mean performance of single plant yield was highest in C2-143, followed by C1-116 compared to checks under low phosphorus conditions. From the trait association it was revealed that grain yield per plant had a high positive significant correlation with plant height, and biomass, in both the normal irrigated and low phosphorus conditions. The identified low phosphorus lines are advanced for multilocation trials to identify low phosphorus tolerant high yielding varieties.
