Abstract

Climate change is one of the most important issues of today’s World. One of the most significant concerns facing the world now is climate change. According to climate experts, throughout the 20th century, there was a 0.6 ± 0.2! increase in the earth’s surface air temperature, which was accompanied by modifications in the hydrologic cycle. Among all the components of the climate, temperature is most important for identifying changes in the climate brought about by industrialization and urbanization. This study focuses on the variability and trends of the seasonal and monthly surface air temperature in Gujarat 1958–2015. The results of the analysis of the whole period reveal a statistically significant increasing trend observed. On the average, January is the coldest month of the year and May is the warmest only slightly warmer than April and June). A tendency has also been observed towards warmer years, with significantly warmer summer slightly warmer Kharif and Rabi. The air temperature time series are analyzed, so that the variability and trends can be described.
