Abstract

Demonstrations were conducted during 2022-23 in Navsari, Jalalpore and Gandevi blocks of Navsari District to promote the use of patented product of NAU, Navsari ‘NAUROJI NOVEL banana Pseudostem-based organic liquid nutrients’ spray for mango var. “Kesar” and sapota var. “Kalipatti”. It resulted in significantly higher yields in the demonstration plots (95 q/ha for mango and 134 q/ha for sapota) compared to the control plots (84 q/ha for mango and 119 q/ha for sapota). This led to yield increases of 13.10% for mango and 12.61% for sapota. Furthermore, an extension gap of 11 q/ha for mango and 15 q/ha for sapota, a technology gap of 10 q/ha for mango and 16 q/ha for sapota and a technology index of 9.52 q/ha for mango and 10.67 q/ha for sapota was observed. Additionally, there was a net return increase of 18.85% for mango and 16.37% for sapota. With an additional cost of 7000 /ha for both crops, the incremental return was 26,516 /ha for mango and 27,202 /ha for sapota.
