The present study was conducted in Jagadhari and Radaur blocks Yamunanagar district of Haryana, which was selected purposively on basis of highest area and production under sugarcane based intercropping systems. Among 60 farmers, 30 were selected from block Jagadhri and 30 from block Radaur. On the basis of the nature of the data, budgeting technique and various economic tools were used for estimation of production constraints. Major problems faced by the farmers in production were highly labor intensive cropping system, compatibility issues of herbicide in intercropping, problem with irrigation scheduling in intercropping, non-availability of machines for inter-cultural operation, shortage of labor during harvesting period, frequent attack of wild animals and rats in sugarcane field (wild boar), high cost of input chemicals like fertilizers, plant protection chemicals, scarcity of labor for intercultural operations, and intercropping increase difficulty of mechanization in Yamunanagar district of Haryana.
