Abstract

A two-year research trail was conducted during rabi season of 2021-22 and 2022-23 at Research Farm of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) to study the effect of seed rate and nitrogen levels on nitrogen use efficiency of makkhan grass in Western Uttar Pradesh, India. Trial was consisted three levels of seed rate (10, 15 and 20 kg ha-1) and five levels of nitrogen (0, 50, 75, 100 and 125 kg ha-1) in tested factorial randomized block design with four replications. Among the treatment combinations, application of 20 kg seed rate with 125 kg N ha-1 gave significantly higher values of agronomic nitrogen use efficiency and recovery nitrogen use efficiency during both the years of experimentation. While, application of 20 kg seed rate with 50 kg N ha-1 recorded more partial factor productivity during both the years.
