Abstract

Integrated use of fertilizers and manures on bearing trees of aonla cv. ‘Banarasi’ was studied during 2004–05. There were seven treatments consisting of major nutrients (NPK) with and without farm yard manure (FYM) and boron. Application of NPK @ 50: 25: 50 g along with 100 kg FYM + 100 g boron tree−1 proved most effective in improving the fruit set, their retention, size and quality traits, viz. ascorbic acid and total soluble solid (TSS) contents. This treatment also minimized the premature drop of fruits, reduced the acidity of fruits and enhanced fruit yield by 58.06% over control.
