Abstract

Twenty eight lines of pigeonpea evaluated for different traits revealed that seed yield plant−1 had positive and significant correlation with pods plant−1, primary and secondary branches plant−1 and plant height. Number of pods plant−1 was positively correlated with number of secondary branches plant−1 and plant height. Number of pods plant−1 had maximum direct effect on seed yield plant−1. The present study revealed the importance of number of pods plant−1, plant height, number of primary and secondary branches plant−1 for yield improvement.
