Abstract

The seed testing procedure for kalaunji (Nigella sativa Linn.) seeds was standardized. The results revealed that the weight of the working and submitted sample for physical purity analysis should be 6 and 60 g, respectively. The germination test of kalaunji seed should be conducted on Top of the Paper (TP) media at 20°C temperature. The optimum days for first and final count for germination were 6 and 10 days, respectively.
