Abstract

The mass media constitute a powerful and pervading force in human life. Mass media play a very important role in bringing desirable changes in attitude and behavior of farm women. The present study deals with the 300 randomly selected farm women from ten villages of two blocks-Sandila and Mallawan in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of present study, it was found that majority of farm women were middle aged, primary educated and scheduled caste having nuclear family of 4–6 members. They have small size land holding and medium socioeconomic status. Majority of farm women were using radio as mass media, followed by television and newspaper for acquisition of agricultural and non-agricultural information.
