Abstract

Population suppression capacity of six selected pesticides on Coccinella septempunctata was assessed in brinjal cv. ‘Pusa purpal long’ during kharif season of 2005–08. Application of Bacillus thuringiensis (36.58%), followed by Beauveria bassiana (38.00%) was found least toxic supporting maximum number of beetle population while the maximum lethality was noted for DDVP (60.52%), followed by malathion (56.97%). Neemactin (43.61%) based solution and Avermectin (46.16%) was less lethal and was intermediate in nature in consideration of the toxicity of six insecticide formulation.
